Writing Zen – Haiku
Diana Levy, experienced Zen student and writer, would like to show you how to write a haiku on Sunday 21 July, our next zazenkai.
sinking sun
life gets unfunny
birds don’t agree
The haiku form was developed by Basho in seventeenth century Japan, and then these nature poems spread to every language and culture. Diana will teach the form at our Annandale zendo, then lead a “slow down, observe, walk, write” ginko in the nearby park. We’ll finish with a collaborative reading to evoke the walk.
