Where is the Rhinoceros?
This teisho considers what is a seemingly abstract interaction between people, that is the actual language for the expression of the tao. It discusses our attitudes to practice, and imperfection and how this too is the tao. The koan (Case 91 from the Blue Cliff Record), Yen Kuan’s Rhinoceros, is a dialogue and input that seemingly accumulated over several centuries.
